Big Plum

WHAT IS IT?
a really really big plum, the biggest one i've ever seen..!

WHERE DID I GET IT?
i went for a walk to the IGA up the road because i didn't have any groceries and the thought of going to my local big shopping centre for the cheaper shops made me want to gouge my eyes out. i wandered around in the fruit and veg section and thought they didn't have plums at first because these ones were so huge! i thought they were apples.

WHAT DID IT LOOK LIKE?
massive and deep red and just a little bit soft. it actually made me feel really self-conscious about my hand while taking this photo.

WHAT HAPPENED?
i took it (and another big one) home and put them in the fridge. then in the morning i needed something to eat with my meds, so i took it into my room and ate it while listening to the 1979 original broadway recording of sweeney todd: the demon barber of fleet street. it was the perfect balance of very sweet and just a little tart, and the flesh was lovely and yellow! it fell right off the pit. super satisfying.

WHAT DID I LEARN?
the delight of biting into a plum with reckless abandon and no fear of crunching on a pit is a joy the likes of which i have never experienced. it was sick as.
